Welcome to DU Housing!

Transferring to a new college presents its own unique experiences and challenges. Our Housing & Residential Education (HRE) department continuously works to make the transfer experience simple, improve housing options for transfer students, and provide the necessary resources for your seamless transition to living on campus.

Established as a growth-centered environment, DU’s transfer housing creates a space for you to explore your independence while participating in our vibrant student community and forging meaningful connections. We look forward to welcoming you to your DU home.

Live-On Commitment

DU requires all transfer students to live on campus. Designed to enrich your student experience, the two-year live-on commitment between undergraduate students and DU helps you connect with classmates and promotes your individual growth and independence.

Housing Application Process

Once you’ve been admitted to DU and secured your spot, your next step is to apply for housing through the Housing Portal.

During the application process, you fill out a survey, inquiring about your preferences on sleep habits, daily routines, cleanliness, and more. Using the survey results, Housing and Residential Education (HRE) works to match you with a roommate who complements your living habits and interests.
