What I do
My role is devoted primarily to serving the psychological needs of the Division I intercollegiate student-athletes and general students here at DU, under the supervision of the Sports Psychology Doctoral Intern and Licensed Sports Psychologist. I approach helping people primarily through a client-centered approach within the framework of contextual behavioral science. I am passionate about working with clients who balance high performance and mental well-being, such as student-athletes, graduate students, and military veterans or students who are currently serving.
Professional Biography
My journey in clinical psychology began with a specialty in performance psychology - inspired by personal experiences as a high-performer and small unit leader in the military. As I helped others develop their psychological skills and abilities to perform at their best, I realized I was most driven to support overall mental well-being. At Boston University in pursuit of my master's degree in counseling and performance psychology, I was privileged to work with athletes from nationally competitive collegiate and high school programs. Since beginning my doctoral studies at the University of Denver, my experiences have been highlighted by working at Code 4 Counseling with first responders and their families, as well as in a specialized practicum supporting military veterans, active-duty service members, and their families at The Sturm Center. Beyond this, I have also worked with performers and consulted with professional athletes in my private consulting practice as a Certified Mental Performance Consultant (CMPC).
