Business Operations & Division Resources (BODR) is the central SAIE budget and resource office. Located in Driscoll Commons and serving all 25 SAIE units, BODR is guided by the below mission and values.
Mission Statement:
To create partnerships that empower, educate, and support student and staff stakeholders, by providing resources and services that support the mission of Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence.

BODR Leadership
Lori Gordon
Assistant Vice Chancellor, Business, Operations and Division Resources
Lori joins the University of Denver after serving at Northwestern University for nearly 15 years and 1.5 years at Duke University. At Northwestern, she started in the Office of Budget and Planning with a portfolio that included Residential Services, Dining, Facilities and Capital Planning. She joined the Kellogg School of Management (KSM) where she was an Associate Director of Facilities and worked on renovations of the Allen Center and closely with the Executive Education team. Early 2016 Lori was promoted to the Executive Director of Business and Finance for the Division of Student Affairs. Lori led a team of Student Affairs colleagues that presented at Northwestern Universities’ Best Practices Forum demonstrating how Tableau could be effectively used for more efficient dashboard development supporting both information sharing and leadership decisions. In 2018 she was awarded Northwestern Student Affairs Stewardship Award.
Lori joined the Duke University Student Affairs team where she served as the Division Chief Financial Officer for Student Affairs as the university emerged from the pandemic. Prior to her career in higher education, Lori worked in various finance, planning, and purchasing roles across PepsiCo, Sara Lee, Brinker International and Thompson Reuters.
Lori received her Bachelor of Science in Engineering Geology from Texas A&M University and a master’s in business administration from the University of Tennessee. She is a member of NACUBO and SHRM. Lori enjoys visiting her daughter, Audrey, in Austin and son, Jack, at CU-Boulder; her husband and two dogs in Chicago and jogging, hiking, motorcycling and playing golf (albeit not very well).
Carol Harp
Assistant Director
Carol Harp serves as a business officer in Business Operations and Division Resources, for Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence. She worked at the university in the Career Center for her first 8 years before taking on a larger budget/HR role within the Student Affairs division. Prior to working at the university, Carol worked for General Dynamics in Rancho Cucamonga, California as a Sr. analyst, supporting the Stinger Missile Program. Early in her career, she worked as a case manager for human services in Orange County, California.
Carol graduated from California State University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services. She enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Braylen. She likes to be outside enjoying nature when the weather permits and loves going to the gym for body combat and Zumba classes. Her “happy place” is any beach community.
Tommy Nagle
Business Officer
Tommy Nagle serves as Business Officer in Business Operations and Division Resources, for Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence. Prior to serving in this role, Tommy worked as a Business and Operations Coordinator for University of Denver Advancement. Before moving to Denver in 2015, Tommy managed an instrument repair and music lesson program in central Connecticut.
Tommy received his bachelor's degree in mathematics at the University of Connecticut in 2012. In his spare time, Tommy enjoys going to concerts, doing various outdoor activities, and spending time with friends and family. He has a 5-year-old Corgi named Ein, and she is a perfect little angel that likes to hide his belongings all around their apartment.
Karen Ramon
Business Officer
Karen Ramon joined the SAIE-BODR division as a Business Officer in September 2021. She worked for HERS in the Chambers Center prior to joining Student Affairs as an Accountant and Instructional Designer. She brings 20 years of experience in the education and nonprofit sectors. She has created new programming, developed accounting procedures, and worked to develop clear strategic goals in her prior roles. Karen also taught mathematics and business courses in the secondary and higher education sectors.
She received her MBA in Business Administration from the University of Houston and her B.S. in Mathematics Education from Colorado State University. She has volunteered as a board member for Stemblazers and Ben Franklin Academy. She enjoys spending time with her partner and 3 boys. Her favorite hobbies are playing tennis, volleyball, and traveling. Growing up as a military brat has given her the opportunity to live in different countries including Guam and Germany.
Holly MacKenzie
Business Officer
Holly MacKenzie serves as a business officer in the Business Operations and Division Resources for Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence. Prior to serving in this role, Holly has worked in academic resources here at DU as well as Naropa University and in housing operations at SUNY Geneseo, SUNY Buffalo, and an ACUHO-I internship at University of Alaska Anchorage.
Holly received her BA in History from SUNY Geneseo and a MS in Higher Education Administration at Canisius College. Originally from Buffalo NY, Holly has been in Colorado since 2008 and wants to see all your pet photos
Angie McElwreath
Sr. Business Analyst
Angie McElwreath serves as Sr. Business Analyst in the Information Technology Department exclusively supporting Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence. Prior to serving in this role, Angie has spent most of her career supporting student success in Student Finance at lenders, services, and other institutions.
Angie received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado Boulder. In addition, she serves as a member of the IT Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee and is working on her Six Sigma belts. In addition, Angie is a Colorado native and enjoys spending time traveling to beach locations, kick boxing and time with her husband, kids and three pugs, Kato, Samwiches and Mushu!
Darin Boutet
Sr. Support Specialist
Darin serves as an Sr. Support Specialist and partners with Business Operations and Division Resources, for Student Affairs and Inclusive Excellence. Darin has a background in photojournalism, A/V, and event support and prior to serving in this role, he worked with Digital Media Services. He has been providing technology related support for DU since 2018.
Darin received a Bachelor of Science in Broadcasting from Champlain College and Graduate Specialized Degree from the University of Denver in Telecommunications Technologies. Darin has lived in Vermont, Summit County Colorado and is originally from Maine.
Jared Smith
Business Analyst 4D
Jared Smith is serving as Business Analyst I for the 4D Student Experience. He is originally from Atlanta, Georgia and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Georgia Southern University. He enjoys hiking with his partner and his goldendoodle Reuben.
