About the Cultural Center
The Cultural Center at the University of Denver provides identity-based student programming, annual cultural signature events, and leadership opportunities and support. We do this through campus-wide partnerships, student-led initiatives, and being a central place to help you envision what your student experience should be like.
We’re committed to uplifting and empowering students. Our work is providing spaces for students to be their full selves at DU through identity-based programming like an annual Día de los Muertos community celebration or rock climbing with Outdoor Leadership Program.
We create spaces for the campus to celebrate differences across identities. Use the resources on this website to learn more about our work and how we can support you during your time at DU.
The mission of the Cultural Center is to create an environment where students of color, students of marginalized faiths and LGBTQ+ students can critically engage their historical legacies, while enhancing their educational, intellectual and personal/professional interest as it relates to race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, socioeconomic, and cultural sensibilities; while providing a physical safe haven for respite and dialogue as they navigate their journey at the University of Denver.
Increase the presence and participation of historically underrepresented populations within the institution as well as their retention, success, and sense of belonging.
To provide a community that facilitates success in the areas of leadership, scholarship, service, and advocacy through advising, empowerment, cultural enrichment, educational programming, and social development.
Engage members of the University of Denver community in collaboration with community partners, in the work of inclusivity and diversity toward service to the public good.
