Types of Student Support

If you've experienced the loss of an immediate family or household member, we'd like to help you through this difficult time in any way we can.

If you're having a temporary financial hardship or setback, please contact us. We'll work with you to learn if you may qualify to receive financial support from the Student Assistance Fund, through an emergency loan or through another funding source. We also offer financial wellness courses and community funding for LGBTQ+ individuals in crisis.

If you are experiencing food or housing insecurities, need assistance connecting to healthcare resources, or other support, the SOS team is here to help you.

If you need time to take a break from school to focus on your well-being, we can provide you with options such as the Medical Leave of Absence process.

This resources list is inclusive of DU specific resources for students, as well as, resources available for the wider community. Please note that the majority of resources are within the Denver Metro area.

For distance learners: you may utilize resource databases such as local 2-1-1 databases or AuntBertha.com that can assist with finding resources in your local area. These are shown in the below list under “Resources Databases”

For International students: Please always consult with International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) when seeking to access community resources to learn about any potential impacts it may have.
