The Office of Student Outreach & Support (SOS) is the designated office to help support students in the event of a death in the student's immediate family or household. The student bereavement policy allows students a certain number of excused absences in the event of a familial or household loss.
How to Request a Bereavement Notification
If you've experienced a close familial loss, please don't hesitate to contact Student Outreach & Support. If you'd like to request time away from your coursework, you can do so by filling out the notification request form. Once we've reviewed the request, we'll notify your professors of the situation who can then give you the time you need.
