Streamlined Funding Application for Student Affairs & Inclusive Excellence
The purpose of the Streamlined Funding Application for Student Affairs & Inclusive Excellence
is to simplify students’ process to apply for additional assistance funds from SAIE. This application is supported by several Student Affairs & Inclusive Excellence (SAIE) departments who manage different assistance funds. These funds are to assist Students in having a holistic student experience.
Funding is limited each semester, and applications will be reviewed as funds last. Once funds are exhausted, additional applications will not be reviewed. All decisions are final. These assistance funds are awarded as a grant to a student’s Financial Aid package that students do not need to repay. Awards may impact other aid, may count as income, and may be subject to federal and/or state taxes.
*All students are welcome to apply, independent of immigration status*
Eligibility for all SAIE Funds:
- Applicant must be currently enrolled in classes or otherwise engaged academically at the University of Denver for the term in which they are requesting additional funding support.
- Applicant must have unmet financial need as assessed by the Financial Aid Office.
- On-line, virtual students are not eligible for these funds.
- Full-time, benefitted employees are not eligible for additional funding through these sources regardless of also maintaining student status at DU.
- Specific funds may have additional eligibility requirements.
-
FIRST@DU Enrichment Fund
The FIRST@DU Enrichment Fund is designed to help first-generation undergraduate students at DU overcome financial barriers and fully engage in the 4D experience. This fund can assist with a variety of needs, such as academic expenses related to attending professional conferences, paying membership dues, studying abroad, as well as short-term health and wellness needs, learning assistance, and technology.
-
Student Assistance Fund
The Student Assistance Fund (SAF) provides financial assistance to students experiencing unforeseen emergency situations, unrelated to the normal cost of attendance, that interfere with their ability to access their education. The fund is designed to offset a short-term financial emergency and is not intended to replace or supplement financial aid or other sources of income. Consideration for SAF funding should take place after all other applicable financial aid and community resources are exhausted.
Students can explore how to address long-term needs by contacting Student Outreach & Support (SOS) to determine available options.
-
Student Engagement Fund
The Office of Student Engagement offers small grants to qualified undergraduate students. This is thanks to donations from families, alumni, and other friends of DU. Students can request grants for academic, co-curricular, or pre-professional experiences.
The Student Assistance Fund requires documentation and reserves the right to request receipts.
