VIP's Summer Link to College program gives rising high school juniors from our partner VIP schools the chance to spend five days living on the beautiful University of Denver campus as they experience their first taste of college life. From dorm living to university classes, workshops, cultural events, and more, Summer Link is designed to demystify the postsecondary academic experience and encourage students to continue into higher education after graduating high school.
This year, VIP expects to host more than 100 Summer Link participants from July 22nd through the 26th. Students must commit to attend all five days.
Ongoing interaction and mentor support from DU/VIP student leaders
Intensive academic classes taught by DU professors
Workshops in leadership, financial aid, time management, study skills, and cultural field trips
On-campus housing and dining
Follow-up activities during the academic year on how to prepare for college and the future
Who Should Apply?
Summer Link is designed for students with strong academic interests and potential. It is intended to support and empower those who plan to attend college, as well as those who may think college is not accessible to them. Participants must commit to attending all five days.
The program is available exclusively to rising high school juniors from any Colorado High School.
High School Presentations
We would love to come to your partner VIP high school and present the Summer Link program to your sophomore students! We can go to their classes, advisories, or meet during their lunch period. If you're interested, please email linda.quintanar@du.edu to propose dates and times for us to present in the next few weeks.
