DU Family Ambassador Program 

Overview of the Program

DU Family Ambassadors are dedicated family members who play a pivotal role in enhancing the student experience at the University of Denver (DU) by offering support, guidance, and engagement opportunities to other DU families. These ambassadors serve as a bridge between the university and its broader family network, fostering a sense of community and connection.

Timeline of the Program 

Information Session 

We host an information session in late June every year for people to learn more about the program. 

Application 

  • Applications have now closed for the 2026-2027 DU Family Ambassador Role. 
  • Selections will be made and announced mid July 

Training 

  • Training will take place via Zoom in late July based upon availability 
  • Ambassadors will be notified in mid July of their acceptance and the training date.  

Timeline

  • June 2026- Application process opens. 
  • July 2026- Family Ambassador training and July Ambassador Meeting. 
  • October 2026- Family Ambassador Quarterly Fall meeting- in partnership with Homecoming 
  • January 2027- Family Ambassador Quarterly Winter meeting 
  • April 2027- Family Ambassador Quarterly Spring meeting- in partnership with Family Weekend 
  • June 2027 - Application process begins again for 2027-2028 season. 

Opportunities that DU Family Ambassadors will support include: 

  • In Person events such as: 
    • Hosting a Family Summer Sendoff or Regional Event
    • Supporting the Summer Baseball Series
    • Supporting Admissions and Visit Programs
    • Supporting Discoveries Orientation Family Sessions 
    • Supporting Family Weekend or Homecoming events 
  • Online Support such as: 
    • Providing feedback in a focus group or brainstorming session 
    • Monitoring Social Media
    • DU Family Experience: Posts, Newsletters, or Community Support and more!
