“We have to do it because we can no longer stay invisible. We should not be ashamed of who we are. We have to show the world that we are numerous. There are many of us out there.”

Pride Prom
Pride Prom is one of the largest LGBT social events at DU. Many of our LGBT oriented events emulate social experiences that LGBT people may have missed out on in their youth because of gender and sexuality-based discrimination. Pride Prom is celebrated in the Spring.
Lavender Graduation
Lavender Graduation is The Cultural Center’s special commencement for LGBT+ graduates.
The Queer Student Alliance (QSA) is a student-run undergraduate Registered Student Organization (RSO) and is a member of the USG Diversity Committee’s Joint Council (link to Affinity Groups tab on our website). QSA hosts events throughout the year to establish community and empower LGBT+ student voices.

First, we are sorry you are experiencing this and know it is not on you to correct. There are a few courses of action:
1. Submit an official bias report with Equal Opportunity and Title IX . We know this entails more emotional labor on your part and you can share as much or as little as you would like. The process of how the situation is addressed is entirely up to you. It is helpful for the University to have this official information on record to address wider campus impacts.
2. Ask trusted classmates to correct for you.
3. Talk with your academic advisor or other trusted faculty/staff member.
